First Time Limo Hire

If you're planning on using a limo hire company or similar mode of rented transportation for a special event such as a wedding, it's important to complete some pre-rental checks before you hand over any money. Naturally for a wedding you'll want only the best, and so ensuring that the vehicle is in good condition before it arrives is of utmost importance to maintain the integrity of the event, and make sure it goes off without a hitch. These simple tips will help those who have not used a vehicle hire service before to ensure that the vehicle meets the required standards before signing the contract.

Contractual Agreement

You'll no doubt spend time phoning around different companies looking for the best deal, which is a wise thing to do. However even if you feel you have found the right company always make sure you do a thorough check of the contractual agreement. Whilst any company will give you the key points, it's the fine print that you must be aware of. Some companies may allow you to return the car with a partially full fuel tan and then charge you the difference using their own supply. If this is the case, check local garages and compare fuel prices; you may find that you are able to save some extra money. While uncommon, you may also be required to clean the exterior and interior of the car. If this is the case and you fail to do so, you could incur additional charges.

Interior and Exterior Check

Once you're happy with the contract but before you sign it, you'll want to check the exterior and interior of the vehicle. Identifying scratches, bumps and other faults before you take the keys will ensure you are not charged for them when the car is returned. Most companies will have some form of paperwork that allows you to note down any issues by circling their location on a basic diagram of the car. Be sure to check everything from the paintwork and areas of rust to the wheels and the state of the interior fabric, and get the paperwork countersigned. If you can, get a friend to stand outside of the car whilst you check the lights and take photographs of the vehicle on your phone, making sure it is clear that vehicle is parked at the rental agency.

Test Drive

Hiring a limo or other big vehicle may be daunting. If a driver isn't provided and you will be the named driver, take it for a test drive if possible. This will make you more comfortable with the feel and reduce the chance of an accident.

About Me

Hiring a minibus

I recently organised a tour of the local wineries as part of our wedding day. We had a lot of relatives coming in from abroad and overseas and I wanted to make sure that they didn't get too bored when we were off getting our formal wedding photos done. Getting the right minibus is important as some of our older relatives aren't that steady on their feet and I didn't want anyone getting injured on a fun winery tour! This blog is all about hiring a minibus with a driver so that you can organise an event or party of your own.
